Nkpubre who sort freedom from any negative influence on the party charged the leadership to be creative in generating funds for the party rather than depend on the state governor, in order to ensure their independence.
He therefore expressed appreciation for the able leadership quality of Prince Ita Etuk who he noted had been able to stabilize the polity.

He said his working committee just rounded off a tour of the 31 local government areas in the state, where party positions and stand points were communicated at closer range to the grassroots. Among various achievements listed by the state chairman of the party was the acquisition of 2000sqm hectares of land, which he expressed the hope of hosting the 2011 gubernatorial congress in the state. Ita Etuk told the visiting team that it was a tradition in the state for whoever gets the mandate to hold it for eight years, after which it shall move to another zone. He said the party's position to stand by the administration was based on such grounds and the excellence performance of the present administration.
He therefore called on the national leadership of the party to exercise disciplinary measures on party members who were bent on tarnishing the image of the party through negative politics.
