Youths Plead With Frank Okon to Join the Governorship Race
A youth group that goes by the name, “Concerned PDP Youths For Good Governance”, has called on the former Special Assistant on Technical matters to the former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Obong Victor Attah, to present himself for the forth coming contest to the Uyo Hilltop Mansion in 2011. The call was contained in a communiqué made available to Weekly Insight and signed by the group's protem president, Mr. Anietie Udo Umoh and secretary, Mr. Victor Mbotidem. The communiqué was the outcome of the group's recent meeting in Uyo.
The group stated that their request for the former Special Assistant was predicated on his track record of service and his ability to draw support and following throughout the state irrespective of ethnic origins. They described the former SA as a man who had the mandate to push the major projects initiated by the immediate past governor of the state. They noted that they have been searching for a candidate with the qualification and charisma to deliver the state from what they called, “hunger and alarming insecurity”
The communiqué stated that “after examining all the aspirants so far, we have come to realize that only Frank Okon can move the state from its present stagnated position to rapid development and manage the state for all, against the present attitude of using the God given wealth of the state based on ethnic consideration”.
The group urged the former Special Assistant to come back from where ever he is and save the state, while promising the support of youths, market women, Okada operators and all those they claim have “seen hell under the present state government”  Comments
